  • CAN I ACCESS THIS ON THE NHS?
The NHS offers a range of psychotherapeutic services and CBT is a preferred treatment method for depression and anxiety. Unfortunately, with NHS services the waiting lists are long ranging from months to years and when you do get round to treatment you will only be able to access a set number of sessions, usually at set times and of a set frequency which may not be what you would like or need. This is why some turn to private treatment where there won’t be a wait and the times and frequency of sessions are what you need.
  • IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN THE EFFECTIVENESS OF REMOTE V FACE TO FACE THERAPY?
When COVID started services were left with little choice but to practice remotely for a period, since then a lot of therapy is still being delivered remotely even within the NHS, because it works and has a number of positive benefits. For example, you save time spent travelling to get to a clinic, you can fit it around your existing schedule without having to block out large chunks of time, you’re getting professional help from the safety of wherever you want to do the sessions from, its accessible if you have physical limitations and if you opt for telephone sessions, you don’t have to show your face if you don’t want to. There’s numerous pieces of research out there which shows that electronically delivered therapy is just as effective than face to face therapy. Reference: (Luo C, Sanger N, Singhal N, et al. A comparison of electronically-delivered and face to face cognitive behavioural therapies in depressive disorders: A systematic review and meta-analysis, EClinicalMedicine, 2020;24:100442. doi:10.1016/j.eclinm.2020.100442).
  • ARE SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?
Yes – all therapists work according to the strict confidentially guidelines of the BABCP. But there may be some occasions when a therapist would have to breach the confidentiality e.g. if they suspect that you or someone else may be at risk or if a court of law requests that they do so.
  • WHY DO YOU NEED MY GP DETAILS?
We require your GP details to carry out our duty of care to you. We would not contact your GP without your consent to do so. The only exception to this would be where there is a concern about your safety.
  • HOW DO I PAY FOR SESSIONS?
The easiest and quickest way is by paying via our online portal at the time of booking your session but you can also pay via bank transfer. All sessions are payable in advance of the session.
  • WHAT IF I CANCEL A SESSION?
Cancellations are fine as long as they are done 24 hours before the session time. Any cancellations within 24 hours of the session will be charged in full.
  • WHAT IF I AM LATE TO A SESSION?
If you are running late then you will be able to have what's remaining of the session but your therapist may not be able to extend the time due to other appointments following yours.
  • DO YOU WORK WITH CHILDREN?
Unfortunately we only work with those aged 18+
  • DO YOU PROVIDE REPORTS?
Yes reports can be provided at an additional cost.
  • CAN YOU OFFER THERAPY IN OTHER LANGUAGES?
Yes, we have bilingual therapists, please get in touch to find out more.We are also able to use interpreters at an additional charge.
